Chrome Web Store availability

Deskpot version 0.10.2 is available publicly from its official Chrome Web Store listing.

Official release

For the safest installation and automatic updates, install Deskpot only from its official Chrome Web Store listing.

Quick fixes

Deskpot does not appear on a new tab

Open Chrome's Extensions page and confirm Deskpot is installed and enabled. If another extension also replaces the New Tab page, Chrome may allow only one of them to control it.

A shortcut will not open

Edit the shortcut and confirm it uses a normal HTTP or HTTPS address. Deskpot intentionally blocks browser-internal, file, and script addresses.

Saved bookmarks do not appear

Right-click a website shortcut and choose Enable saved bookmarks. Approve Chrome's bookmark permission when asked. Deskpot matches that shortcut's hostname and subdomains, so a Gmail shortcut does not show unrelated Google bookmarks. If permission was removed, enable it again from the right-click menu.

Weather will not update

Check the city name and internet connection, then press F5 to reload Deskpot. Weather information is provided by Open-Meteo and cached locally for 30 minutes.

My layout disappeared

Deskpot data is stored locally in Chrome. Clearing extension storage, removing the extension, or using a different Chrome profile can remove that local setup. Import a Deskpot JSON backup if you created one earlier. Pro users can reconnect Google Drive backup, choose Restore, and select the named device backup they want.

Google Calendar will not connect

Confirm you are signed into Chrome with the Google account whose primary calendar you want to display. Open the calendar panel, choose Connect Google Calendar, and approve read-only event access. If the connection expires, choose Reconnect. Deskpot never edits calendar events.

Google Drive backup needs attention

Confirm Deskpot Pro is active and Chrome is signed into the Google account used for the backup. Open Settings, disconnect Drive backup, then connect it again and approve the private app-data permission. Each connected device keeps its own named backup, and Deskpot cannot browse your other Drive files.

Some events are missing

Deskpot displays events from the connected account's primary calendar for the visible month. Press F5 to reload Deskpot or change months to request the latest event list automatically.

My Pro license will not activate

One Deskpot Pro key supports up to three personal devices. Open Deskpot Settings, choose Deskpot Pro, and paste the complete license key from your Freemius purchase email. Check your internet connection and confirm the license still has an available activation. If all three slots are occupied, open the Freemius customer portal, deactivate a device you no longer use, and try again.

I changed computers

If all three activation slots are already occupied, deactivate Pro from a computer you no longer use before activating the same key on the new one. If that computer is unavailable, manage the activation from the Freemius customer portal. Deskpot backups do not contain your license key, so restore your chosen device layout first and activate Pro separately.

Report a problem

support@heappslabs.com

When reporting an issue, include the Deskpot version, Chrome version, operating system, what you expected, what happened instead, and the steps that reproduce the problem. Do not include passcodes, private calendar information, or exported backup files.

Feature requests

Deskpot is intentionally starting small. Useful requests explain the problem you want to solve, how often it occurs, and how the feature would fit naturally into a new-tab desktop.
